Responding to Sexual Violence in Migrant & Refugee Communities

COURSE OVERVIEW
This e-learning course provides a foundational understanding of sexual violence including its forms, impacts, and how to respond using a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and victim-survivor-centered approach. It introduces the LIVES framework, offering practical guidance on how to support victim-survivors with empathy and respect.

COURSE OVERVIEW
Technology is part of our everyday lives. It helps us stay connected, informed, and engaged with the world around us. While technology offers many benefits, it can also be misused to cause harm. The e-learning course is designed to help you understand technology facilitated abuse (TFA) in the context of domestic and family violence (DFV), with a focus on multicultural communities.

This course explores coercive control within the context of family and domestic violence in migrant and refugee communities. You’ll learn how power, culture, migration experiences, and community pressures can shape patterns of control and abuse. Through practical examples and trauma-informed, culturally responsive guidance, this course supports you to recognise subtle and complex forms of coercive control, respond safely and respectfully, and connect victim-survivors with appropriate support services.
